Valentine Fodor – aka Vege Mamma – bakes and ices voluptuous, frilly cakes in her Sydney home kitchen. They’re bright, funky, uneven, loved by Sydneysiders and have graced many a glossy (Vogue, Elle, Gourmet Traveller, In Style). Until now, to get one of these out-there creations, you had to order your own celebration cake online. But this month, Mamma’s popping up at Bronte’s Bar Buci for a whole weekend.
Head into the shop-slash-wine-bar from 9am to get your sugar hit. Perhaps a dense toasted hazelnut olive oil cake dressed in blueberry Swiss meringue buttercream? Or maybe a fudgy chocolate serve?
