Sunshine Beach
Sunshine Beach is the first link in a chain of beaches that run from the edge of the Noosa headland down to Coolum. On one side, there’s the beautifully preserved coastal scrub of the Noosa National Park, and on the other there’s the endless emerald expanse of the Coral Sea.
The surfing is excellent here, particularly in winter and autumn. The beach is patrolled year-round, too. Up at the northern end of Sunshine there’s also an off-leash dog area, so your pooch can also get in on the fun.
Sunshine Beach has a relaxed and friendly village feel, and it’s a little more built-up than beaches such as Peregian and Castaways further down the coast. That means there are plenty of cafes around for a pre-swim coffee, as well as a handful of bars and restaurants to wind down in after a day in the surf. The pick of the bunch might be the Sunshine Beach Surf Club: it offers beautiful views out over the beach and it’s a true local favourite.
