House of the Weedy Seadragon
Eaglehawk Neck is a quiet seaside village in the south-east of Tassie that’s bookended by rocky coastline on one side and national park on the other. This is the setting for House of the Weedy Sea Dragon, an atmospheric shack on the sand dunes of Pirate Bay. It contains three bedrooms and sleeps six guests in a queen bed, double bed and single bunk bed.
The interior is decked out with modern furniture and large cedar windows. The ocean is so close you can hear it from the bedroom as you drift off at night. And the backyard, complete with fire pit, leads directly onto the bay. The cherry on top? A private two-person sauna right on the beach, where you can sweat while drinking in ocean views and look out for penguins, echidnas and other wildlife wandering by.
