Hart's Farm

Hart’s Farm is the ideal destination for a luxury stay for two.

Located in the rural hinterlands between Westernport and Port Phillip Bay beaches, the farm has come a long way since Penny Hart and her partner Graeme bought its 10 hectares of open paddock in 1997.

If you’re just stopping by, you can buy top quality, naturally fermented apple cider, fruit preserves and fantastic extra virgin olive oils. Hart’s farm uses a Tuscan olive variety that’s well suited to the Peninsula’s climate.

It’s worth booking a stay here, though. The Studio features a comfy queen bed with soft French linen sheets – but you’ll likely spend most of your time on the seat by the sunny window, curled up with a book. There’s a huge bath (complete with fluffy towels and robes), a large TV, a bluetooth sound system and a coffee machine.

If you’re looking to spread out, consider booking out the Retreat, a living and entertaining space that adjoins the Studio. It has an attractive living area and a fully equipped kitchen with all the cookware you’d need for cooking up a feast. The main attractions, though, are the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto a deck with picturesque views of the dam, olive groves and valley beyond.

Hart’s Farm is also popular for small weddings of up to 16 guests.
