Once you’ve located the front door, rung the doorbell and been admitted into this hidden first-floorbar, further discovery still awaits. The venue is split between East and West Berlin. Opulence meets wartime misery, creating a fun juxtaposition. The disused grenade crates are surprisingly comfortable when the other side of ‘the wall’, which offers plush leather booths and soft lighting, is full.

A selection of cocktails ranging from the classic to the interesting will educate and challenge the palate. Created by a dedicated team of bartenders who are serious about their craft; you can always be assured of a decent tipple in here.

Overall, the space is small and cosy, so it’s best not to roll in with a big group (in fact, groups of more than eight are "verboten"). It is, however, perfect for first dates or to illustrate to out-of-town friends how cool and quirky Melbourne’s hidden bars can be.
